Marine Labs, Raging Waters and more fun!

The fun continues with a trip to Santa Cruz to learn about the marine life at the UCSC Marine Labs.  The boys got to touch and feel baby sharks, whale fossils, and starfish.  We also spent a day at Raging Waters and stayed until closing!  The weather was perfect, the crowds weren't bad, and we went on every slide we could!  The boys were both super brave, Carson even went on a couple of slides by himself and Austin went on the scariest of them all, a slide called Bombs Away!  It's a slide that goes straight down a tube and shoots water up at you!  The heart beat, the countdown, and the fact that you're enclosed in a "vessel" get your heart racing, that's for sure!

We also visited the Dairy a bunch of times, rode the long slide at Mission Park, went miniature golfing, and spent an afternoon in San Jose at the Discovery Children's Museum.

Petting a shark at the Marine Labs...

It's too bad it was cloudy and cold the day we were there, it would've been even more beautiful!

The boys have their game faces on! CHEATERS.

Raging Waters...

There isn't much this kid is afraid of.

Love us a lazy river!

Probably one of the longest and funnest slides there is!

Playing at the Children's museum in San Jose.  Kids loved it!

They even got to build their very own sculpture!

2 weeks of fun begins!

There is never a shortage of fun or lack of activites when we're with family, that's for sure and this particular trip to CA was no exception!  We spent 2 weeks at Grandma and Grandpa's the latter part of July, beginning of August.

The first week we went to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, swam in the neighbor's awesome pool (a summer tradition), and went boating!

Austin's loved the rollercoasters!  What a little daredevil!

We went to a Cirque de Soleil type acrobatic show, those guys were crazy talented!

Grandma and Grandpa about to get WET!!!

The neighbors amazing pool complete with slide, diving rocks, and a spa!

We did a little boating too.  Grandpa's got skillz!

Austin attempting his first time knee boarding.  The first time he just wanted to ride on his stomach, but after he got the hang of it, he was up on his knees in no time!

Me "trying" to catch a little air

Carson would only tube, but we had fun!

Making strides

Austin's had another successful swim team season.  I love that he loves to swim and never complains about going to practice every morning (which is great to combat lazy summer mornings).  His breast stroke and butterfly have improved a lot this summer, but it's his freestyle that is his best stroke (probably because he does it the most).  Other than the super LONG swim meets, I love watching him compete and also work together with his team for the relays!

Next year we're hoping Carson will be ready for swim team.  OH boy!

More summer fun

It has been a FUN and very BUSY summer thus far!  Trying to keep these boys from killing it each other or me wanting to pull my hair out is quite the task! ;)

We've had our fair share of afternoons spent at Eagle Island with friends (Idaho's beach: redneck style!)

Safe in the sun, of course! ;)

Kids camp days at friends houses means fun and cold treats!

We spent an afternoon riding the paddle boats downtown at Ann Morrison park!  It was super hot though!

I got to catch up with old friends who I've known since 6th grade!

Roaring Springs fun!

Goldilocks ride, an all-ladies ride.  60 miles. In the wind.  Fun times.

Eagle Fun Days parade with our friends, the Sainsburys!  We rode the float and got to squirt water at everyone!

Carson S. was rigged up to a digger in a Spiderman costume, squirting people! Awesome.

Twilight Criterium.  A Boise famous tradition.  These guys are HAULING.

I want to race again!

Movies at the Park.  Love that it's free and across the street from our neighborhood!

Boise Farmers Market--we love getting the homemade, fresh donuts and lemonade! (And produce, of course.)

Cruisin' the greenbelt.  One of our favorite summer activities.  Austin loves riding his longboard with Tucker pulling him.  Smart boy.

It's been a fun, busy summer so far!
