I was planning to go through all our photo albums and collect a bunch of pictures of the two of us over the last 8 years (although we've known each other for 12!), but it just seemed like a lot of work (and too many photo albums), and so I thought, "ok, maybe I'll shoot for our 10 year!" But really lack of time and pure laziness was really the case on this one.
So, today we celebrate 8 years of marriage, and when I think back to our wedding day, several words come to mind. Beautiful, perfect, young (we were 22!), completely in love, happy, excited for the future, wonderful, the list goes on. And when I think of the past 8 years together, those same words come to mind (well, except for "young"!). In some ways it seems to have gone by faster than a speeding bullet and it feels like just yesterday that we were still in college, dating, having the time of our lives, staying up way too late "talking" (um hum!), falling in love, and planning our future together. But in other ways, it seems like eternities ago that we weren't "together". So much has happened over the past 8 years, and although we've gone through some pretty rough times in together, I can say with a 100% surety that we love each other more now than we did August 17, 2000.
Mostly the last 8 years have been filled with so many great and wonderful memories that I can't think of anyone else I would rather share them with. Eric, I can't imagine not going through life without you, I can't imagine laughing with anybody else but you, I can't imagine not having you as the father of our children, and mostly, I can't imagine not being with my best friend and partner forever. You make me laugh more than anyone, you are my "better half", you support me, and I love you more each day. I can't wait to see what the next 70 years (yes, we will live well into our 90's!) will bring us. I LOVE YOU!!!!!
