New School=A+

So far, so good!  Almost a month into his new school, and Austin is loving it!  He has made lots of new friends, loves his teacher (she really is awesome), and is thriving on the new curriculum.   Because STEM schools encourage critical thinking and problem solving, this has been a good fit for a kid who thrives on figuring out complex problems and figuring out solutions.  Plus, it helps that he loves science and math too!

For Back-to-School night, BMSA does things a little different.  Instead of the usual meet-and-greet the teacher, they have the whole family come and make rockets together in the classroom and then launch them!  What a brilliant way to connect the students, their families and the school together!

Funniest.video.ever

This might be my most favorite video of Carson ever.  Carson loves to do impressions, but his favorite is of an old man.  This video was taken one night before bedtime.  He is pretending to be an old man driving "the ole' rust bucket" or a car that breaks down while he is driving it.  I don't think we had laughed that hard in a long time.  So, so funny!  What made it even more hilarious is his reaction to watching it!  He couldn't stop laughing at himself.

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!

Football season is upon us! Of all the sports our kids have played, football is definitely our favorite to watch! This was Carson's first year and Austin's third year playing flag football.  Carson is on the 49ners and Austin, the Cowboys.

That Carson takes his job seriously out there on the field.  He is an intense flag-pulling machine!  He got his first touchdown the second game and boy, do I wish I had gotten that on camera!  He wasn't going to let anyone get his flags!  He had a big grin on his face when he made it the end zone and then proceeded to do a little touchdown dance!

Austin mostly plays Center position, and for both offense and defense.  He knows his role and plays it well, blocking his man!  What I love most is he tries hard when he's playing and listens to his coach.  He is learning the game really well too!

Labor Day Weekend Fun

We decided to make one last camping trip with friends this weekend up at Anderson Ranch, a reservoir about 2 hours from Boise.  We had perfect weather!  We spent the weekend relaxing, hiking, boating, and did lots of laughing!
