Spring break '13

Quick trip to Logan for Spring break to see family and help Salli and her brood move to Texas!  First thing we did was take family pictures.  Always an experience with the McEvoy clan!  And of course, I tried to get a few shots of our boys, but that never turns out very well (as you can see).  This one above though is classic Carson though.  Gotta love it!

The other reason for going to Logan?  To see the latest McEvoy addition!  Baby Scout was born about 2 weeks before we got there and boy, that baby has a head of hair on his head!  He is so precious!

So happy to see sweet Erin.  We just love her.

The McEvoy men.  What a handsome bunch of fellas!

And the ladies with Roger-Dodger.  We know he secretly likes us better than the boys. ;)

Probably my favorite picture of the bunch.  Rog with all the grand-babies!

Baby Scout snoozing all the festivities away.  Isn't he a doll?!?!

Moving day!  It was bittersweet to see Salli and her family move.  They will be missed greatly, but new and exciting adventures await them in Texas!

We spent all day packing up their moving van and cleaning the house!  It was quite the job!

I was grateful to see these two beauties and besties while I was there.  My college BFF's, Britt and Katie.  Love them to pieces.

We also got a see Jen, Matt, and Gwennie!  They came up from SLC for the afternoon and we enjoyed going to lunch, playing at the park, and going to the dinky Logan zoo!

I love how these boys ADORE Gwen.  They are so sweet and tender with her, it is just so cute to see!

I love this little niece of mine. It is just a shame that I don't get to see her more often! :(

Carson turns FIVE!

It's hard to believe that Carson is FIVE already!  Seriously, where has this last year gone?!  For his birthday party this year, we chose to go to Bounce, a fun indoor play place designed to wear kids out!

Carson and his preschool buddies

Carson wanted a cake with ocean animals on it for his birthday.  He saw this at a store and wanted this exact cake!  Easy peasy, says Mom! ;)

Carson and his buddies eating cake and ice cream.  10 four and five-year old boys wore us out!

 His favorite gift, some num-chucks!

Grandma and Grandpa came for Carson's birthday weekend!  We had a blast playing at the arcade at Big Al's!

Presents!  What do you get the boy who loves cars, but has a million?  Mircro cars!

He got a sweet scooter from Grandma and Grandpa.  It even lights up and sparks when you brake on the concrete!

We love this little boy so much.  He is such a joy in our family! We love that Carson is sweet and affectionate (at least with Mom), but also really silly and goofy!  Carson has a way about him to make people laugh and we just love that about him!  He is also a good friend, plays well and shares with others, and is very generous with his things!

Carson loves just about any food.  His favorites right now?  FISH, bacon, Mom's chocolate banana protein drinks, McEvoy McMuffins (an English muffin with egg, cheese and ham on it), salads, turkey sandwiches, Chick Fila cookies, apples (he eats like 2/day), pepperoni pizza, and Mike N Ikes.

Carson is proving to also be a very smart boy.  He knows all his letters, sounds, and numbers.  He isn't quite reading yet, but I'm sure will be soon.  Carson learns a lot from hearing his brother read, spell, and do his homework.  In fact, he knows a lot of math facts already!  His preschool teacher says that he is one of the brighter kids in class and that he will do great in kindergarten.

Carson loves playing baseball, soccer, football, you name it.  He is pretty coordinated and seems very naturally athletic.  He will start T-ball in May and then will be taking swim lessons in the summer while his brother does swim team.

We sure love you, Carson.  You are a happy, special, fun, and sweet boy and we are blessed to have you in our family!

Minute to Win It

We got together with our friends, the Sainsburys for FHE one night and played Minute-to-Win-It games and made ice cream sundaes.  Boy, did we have some laughs!  We played 5 games, but the best, by far was the oreo game where you have to get an oreo cookie from your forehead to your mouth without using your hands!

Spring fever

Spring is almost here and we can feel it in the air!  The last few days have been warm and lovely, and so we are trying to take advantage of it!  We went to the park this afternoon to let the kids play and the dog run and then we played a little baseball!  With baseball season coming up in a couple of weeks, we thought it would be good to have a little batting practice! ;)  Let me tell you, Austin has made so much improvement from the beginning of last baseball season.  And Carson...well, let's just put it this way--he won't need a T for t-ball this year (even though it's his first year).  The kid knows how to swing!

Talented PT

I love everything about this picture because it says it all.  Eric has worked for a PT for five years now.  Physical therapy is what Eric is meant to do and he loves it...He is such a talented PT too--so knowledgeable, warm, friendly, and kind-hearted.  The patients ASK for him all the time because he has such a unique and personal way with people.  His ability to make anyone feel comfortable (even while doing uncomfortable exercises!) is truly remarkable.  The older patients, especially the ladies, really love him (I think many of them have secret crushes on them ;)!  I love the personal attention he gives to his patients.  He always makes an effort to get to know each patient and I believe that's what brings them back to the clinic.

Eric is so passionate about what he does, but more than that, he is passionate about helping people.  He will always be the first one to drop whatever he is doing and help someone.  And always without a complaint.  I am so blessed to have this man in my life, my husband and father to our boys.  He is such a good example and we sure LOVE him!

Louie's field trip

I thought this was the cutest field trip.  Carson's preschool went to Louie's Italian restaurant (owned and operated by a local Italian family) and learned about how restaurants run, the food they make, and the kitchens they cook in!  The best part was they got to make their own personal pizza and eat it too!  Carson was all over that!

McCall getaway

We feel very blessed to have Eric work for a great company with an awesome boss.  For Eric's 5 year anniversary, his boss sent us to McCall for the weekend for a little getaway, sans kids.  And it was completely paid for, he picked up the tab on everything from our hotel, our ski tickets, and our food.  Such a generous gift.

The best part was that his boss and family took our kids for the weekend!  We fully enjoyed our weekend away and it was refreshing to just only worry about ourselves for a change! :)  We did some skiing, went to the hot springs, ate yummy food, and even did some snowshoeing.  We had the best time together!

What a view and a gorgeous day!

Ice sculptures still left from the McCall Winter Festival.

Yes, I'm standing ON a frozen lake!

Dinner at the Shore Lodge Narrows restaurant.  The dessert was especially divine!

Yes, that is a cinnamon roll and it feeds a small village in Africa (or a family of 4 ;)!

Another ice sculpture, the grand prize from the contest, right outside our hotel.

The most beautiful day snowshoeing along the Gold Fork River.

That looks COLD!

The Hot Springs.  Such a great way to end the day!
