Halloween festivities

I love Halloween!  It is such a fun holiday.  I love coming up with costumes, passing out candy to kids, decorating the porch, going to parties, carving pumpkins, making caramel apples, all of it!  This year, in addition to our friend's Halloween party, we also had the neighborhood Trunk or Treat, Eric's work party, and then of course, trick or treating!  We also carved pumpkins and made yummy gourmet caramel apples with friends one night.  Eric and I went on a date night one night with friends to Zombie Acres, a corn maize full of "zombies" that you get to shoot with paintball guns from a bus!  It was a blast!

 

 

 

 

 

2nd Annual Roto Rooter Halloween party

Our fun friends, the Sainsburys sure know how to throw a spectacular Halloween party!  This year was no exception.  There were chili dogs, Halloween treats such as cake balls and donuts, face painting, DANCING, bull riding, and even some football watching (BSU vs. BYU)!  It's always fun to dress up and this year we decided to go as the Robertsons, the stars of the reality TV show, Duck Dynasty.  It's a family favorite because it's hilarious, CLEAN, and actually has good family morals.  Our kids are even obsessed with the show.  You have to watch it to truly appreciate our costumes, but they turned out great and seemed to be a hit with everyone!

Fall Break UT trip Part 2

Part 2 of our trip to UT was in Logan! We had more beautiful weather and enjoyed some quality time with our favorite Logan peeps!

We took the kids to our old stomping grounds-USU!  It is always so nostalgic for me walking around the grounds of my alma mater.  Oh, the memories!  We showed the kids the "A" and I told them all about the time Mommy and Daddy became True Aggies on top of the A.  Carson kept saying, "ew" when he found out that becoming a True Aggie meant there was kissing involved! ;)

You can't go to USU without making a pit stop to get some famous Aggie ice cream!  The boys LOVED it!

Cousin time!  The boys had fun with their Provo cousins playing video games, riding the 4 wheeler, and running around outside!

 Eric even took dear ole' me out on the 4 wheeler, and let's just say, I was happy to make it out of there alive!  He is CRAZY!

 

 

 One night we had a campfire at Dave's house.  We had dinner, roasted s'mores, and told campfire stories and jokes!

 

 

My niece and I went for a hike to the Wind Caves one morning.  The last time I had done that hike was my FIRST date with Eric 14 years ago!  The views were spectacular and we had a great time!  Love this goofy, fun girl!

We went with Brett's and Jim's families to the pumpkin patch/corn maize on Saturday.  Of course, the best part was getting lost in the maize!!  And we even cheated and still didn't find our way out!

 



McKenna and I went back to the corn maize later that night to go through the haunted forest.  Let's just say there was a lot of screaming and wetting of pants involved... ;)

Fall Break UT trip Part 1

Well, we never made it to Lake Powell for the McEvoy family fall break reunion trip.  With the government shut-down (over the Obamacare healthcare bill), it forced the national parks to close down the week before we were headed to Powell.  Unfortunately, the lake didn't open up in time for us to go and so instead of going to Lake Powell, we ended up staying in SLC and then headed to Logan for the remainder of the week.

 

We decided to make the most of it.  I mean, why not, Eric had the week off of work and the kids were out of school for most of the week!!  We had beautiful Fall weather while we were there, and we enjoyed lots of good quality family time.  We even saw a few friends while were in town too.

 

Here the highlights from the first part of our trip in SLC:

 

We took the kids to the park one day, it was so cute to see how doting and gentle the kids were with Gwennie!  Especially Austin.  So sweet!
 




 

 

 

 

One of the highlights of the trip was this fun night I had out with my sisters.  We went to dinner at this amazing Mediterranean restaurant and then dressed up in 80's garb and rocked out to an 80's cover band, the Spazmatics!  It was a blast!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 After Conference on Sunday, we took a drive up the mountains to see the beautiful Fall colors.  Fall in the mountains never disappoints!
