Homework

I captured this one day.  I was busy making co-op dinner, stressed to get everything done and help Carson with homework, and Austin just offered to help his brother!  Loved this moment.

Austin had to make puppets for a project at school to go along with a story.  They turned out cute, but let me tell you, it was a PROCESS.  I hate homework and this is just the beginning! UGH.

 

This was my favorite.  Carson had to write down why he would or wouldn't want to be President.  He thought of it all himself!  Boy, did we have some laughs over that one (so did his teacher!).  Definitely a keeper!



Blue & Gold banquet

Austin had his first Blue & Gold banquet yesterday and let's just say, I'm pooped! Because I am the Cub Scout committee Chair, it is a lot of work getting this kind of activity planned and off without a hitch!  Our theme was "Idaho" and we enjoyed potato spuds for dinner and even some Idaho themed cakes!  For fun, we played the game, "Are You Smarter Than a Cub Scout?" and the winners got to throw whip cream pies at the leaders!  That was a hit!

 

Here is Austin's cake, which was a representation of camping in Idaho with Cub Scouts!  He did the whole thing by himself practically and even won an award!

Yep, that was sure fun.  NOT.  But honestly, how often would you let a bunch of 8-10 yr old boys throw cakes at your face?!?!  It was actually really funny and the boys definitely loved it!

 

Presidents weekend fun

 

We had a fun weekend with Auntie Trish aka T-dogs.  We went skiing, went to a hockey game and got pizza, watched movies, went to the gym, and played at the park.  Trish even took the kids on a Valentines date to the movies while Eric and I went out.  That's how awesome she is! ;)  It was a super fun weekend and we wish we could see Trish more.  We love having family visit us. 

All Mine

 

This guy.  How lucky I am to call him ALL MINE.  I think we often take our significant other for granted, we don't show them how much we love them, or we don't appreciate all that they do for us.  I know I definitely fall short in expressing how much Eric means to me.

 

Valentines has never been my favorite holiday.  First of all, shouldn't we always show our loved ones how much they mean to us?  Having one day set aside to do that seems a little weird to me.  However, at the same time, I am also grateful that there is a day that we always put aside our crazy schedules and lives and do something special for just us.  Some years that means going on a date, while other years it is staying at home and doing something special with the kids (like last year when we did fondue).

 

I know how blessed I am.  Eric is above and beyond a "real man".  He is humble, caring, selfless, devoted, loyal, and compassionate.  Anyone that knows him knows that he would do anything for anyone, but especially for his family.  He is as steady as they come, always a "rock", always there.  One of the things I love most about him is ability to just keep going.  Even when life throws some pretty big rocks in his path, Eric always finds a way around those heavy rocks and stays on the course.

 

Simply put, I love this guy!

 



Winter wonderland

I captured this while downtown one Sat morning.  It had just snowed all night and the scene was a winter wonderland!  I love where we live!

 



3.5 Years!

Well, it was a big day yesterday!  I graduated to 6 month scans and finished my last treatment!  I have to be honest, it is definitely bittersweet.  On one hand, I'm happy to not have to go back every 3 months (which is what I've been doing for almost 4 years) and I'm also grateful to be done with treatment (I'm sure my insurance company will be even more grateful!).  However, on the other hand, I'm also a little nervous about going so long in between scans especially because I know firsthand how quickly this disease can change.

 

At the end of the day, I have to push my fears and doubts aside and trust the process and more importantly, trust in my Heavenly Father, who I know has a plan for me.  It was a joyous day to celebrate continued health, remission, and good news with my parents, my friend Courtney, and the doctor and nurses!

 

 

I love these nurses.  They go above and beyond to care for their patients and I always look forward to seeing them!

My good friend, Courtney came with me to SF this time.  Just for the day!  While my mom and I were at doctor's appointments, she was wandering the city taking it all in!  We were able to catch up after I was done, grab lunch and go see the Palace of Fine Arts.

 

My mom, my hero!  She has been with me at almost every doctor appointment, treatment, scan, and hospital stay.  I honestly don't know what I would've done these past few years with out my parents support.  It has been critical to have them with me, especially since my hubbie has stayed at home to hold the fort down.  What a crazy journey this has been, but we have been beyond blessed along the way.

Sun Valley getaway

We surprised my girlfriend, Tarah, for her 30th birthday with a little overnight getaway to Sun Valley this weekend!  The surprise is always the best part.  We went over to her house in the morning on Sat and told her to pack a bag and that she was coming with us, but we weren't telling her where we were going.

 

We then drove to Sun Valley, where we ate lunch, shopped at some fun consignment stores and boutiques, went to dinner, checked out the famous Lodge, and then stayed up late laughing, talking, and getting "cupped" (and Ancient Chinese holistic practice).
