ISSPT softball team

This year, Eric's work organized a co-ed softball team. Let's just say we sucked, but at least we had fun doing it! Even I played when I could, and the kids enjoyed coming to the games to watch us LOSE! :) I wish we had taken more pictures, but this one captured our team pretty well! Go Idaho Spine & Sports Physical Therapy! Maybe next year we should practice...

Easter

Easter was nice this year. No frills, just simple. We had an Easter egg hunt with some friends Saturday night in our front/backyard and the kids enjoyed hunting for eggs. Sunday was Stake Conference and then we went to a friend's for dinner. The best part of the weekend was watching the kids expressions as they saw their Easter baskets. Austin got a couple of things to build, a jump rope, bubbles, glow-in-the-dark stars, and a little candy. Carson got cars (of course) and that's all he needed to be happy.

I love this time of year to remember the single most important event that has happened in Earth's history. The death of our Savior, Jesus Christ. What succeeded that event, that Jesus Christ made possible for us, was the gift of the Atonement. Without it, we cannot be forgiven of our sins and return to live with Him again. Knowing that our Savior suffered every affliction and sorrow for us is beyond incomprehensable sometimes. I cannot imagine the pain and grief that He beared for us. And why did He do it? Because He loves us perfectly in a way that we, as human mortals, cannot understand yet. My testimony of the atonement is real and I am so thankful that our loving Heavenly Father has paved a way for us to return and live in His glory someday.

Potty training 101

Potty training with #2 hasn't been a success YET. With Austin it was easy and only took 2 days. After a weekend of failed attempts with Carson, we have decided to call it quits for awhile. He just isn't ready. Physically he is, but not emotionally. He has no desire to sit on the toilet no matter what we do or bribe him with. I think it's also hard when I'm gone for treatment in CA every 3 weeks too. The last thing I want is for him to revert back and have someone else deal with it. And he's just barely 3, so I'm not too worried. We'll try again in a month and see how it goes. If someone has any good ideas, feel free to share! :)

Tiger Woods, Y'all!

Springtime means many things, but for Eric, it means golfing season! He hates golfing in the heat of summer, so spring is the perfect time to go! One Saturday when it was somewhat warm outside, we decided to go to the driving range with some friends. Let's just say that none of us, including myself, take after Eric's golf abilities! But we had fun wacking the balls at the driving range and practicing our putting skills on the green. Good times!

Meet Tucker!

Meet the newest member of our family, Tucker! For a LONG time, we have wanted a dog, and particularly a lab. We had always talked about getting a puppy, but I was set on waiting until Carson was older, and then cancer happened, and well, it got taken off the priority list again. We started reconsidering our options when my parents adopted an older dog, a 3 yr old golden retriever a couple of months ago. That sold me on skipping the puppy stage and getting a dog that was trained but still young. Then, a patient of Eric's who is older and going through a divorce and moving was looking for a young family to give their 1 yr old yellow lab to...So we decided to "babysit" him for a couple of days to see if we wanted to take the leap, and the rest is history.

His original name was Koby. Eric and Carson wanted to keep it, and Austin and I liked Tucker. So, we flipped a coin and Tucker it was! He is a good looking dog, well trained, and perfect for our two active boys! We take him to the park practically everyday to run, the kids are outside in the yard with him ALL the time. It's so fun to watch their attachment already to this dog. Austin has ALWAYS wanted a dog, and has been asking for one since he could say the word "dog". Carson loves dogs too, and it just seemed like a good thing for our family. It also fixes my "baby craving" by having another body to take care of. We love him!

Spring Break '11

We decided to go to UT for spring break last week. It was crazy weather though. It started out cold and overcast in Logan earlier in the week, then sunny and 70 degrees in SLC at the end of the week, and then a freakin' blizzard-winter wonderland on our drive back home Sunday! We sure had a blast though and it was fun just to hang out with family the whole time (and see some friends too). We played with cousins, went to the arcade, held the newest member of the family- Wren Arzelle McEvoy, watched Tangled and Mega Mind a million times, went to Park City, went to the zoo, saw Rango (totally lame!), and ate yummy food (my favorite, Porcupine Grill). Good times!
