The second half of our little vacay in CA was equally fun. We spent a day at the beach near Santa Cruz. It was Tucker's first time at the beach. I thought he might be timid about the waves, but nope. He loved fetching the frisbee in the surf and we got a kick out of watching him prance and bound through the surf, shake his head furiously trying to get the sand off of the frisbee, and roll on our blanket to get dry. The funniest moment was when Tucker had a "Marley and Me" moment--he pooped in the ocean! Oh man, I didn't know what to do, other than laugh hysterically and make sure nobody saw! :)
We also took the kids to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom which is an amusement park/Sea World kind of place. You can ride on some rollercoasters and then go see the killer whale/dolphin shows. It's such a fun place. Austin had his first experience on a serious rollercoaster (he's finally tall enough)-he held his arms up in the air and screamed! Awesome! I love that he is fearless.
Grandpa and the boys spent a couple of afternoons making little tool boxes in his work shop. Austin's was a tool box, Carson's more of a "car box", but they loved helping Grandpa cut and sand the wood, and then the best part for them was painting them. They turned out great!
On our way home to Boise, we stopped in Lake Tahoe to see Erin and spend a day there. I have been to Tahoe a gazillion times and it never gets old- it is always spectacularly beautiful. The boys and dogs loved playing in the lake, we ate at a good Thai restaurant, and enjoyed the outdoors together.
