Baptism weekend

What a fun, memorable, special weekend we had!  Austin was baptized this weekend and we were grateful to have some family members come witness the event!  Austin was beyond excited to be baptized.

 

After Austin's last day of school on Friday, we took him to get a snow cone!

Love these two clones.  Austin was smiling ear to ear from the moment he entered the baptismal font.  He was so genuinely happy!  It made me cry like a baby.  I was a mess.  You could feel the Holy Ghost so strong, and I know that Austin felt it too.  His confirmation was equally neat--Eric did a great job too.  Austin giggled at times during the prayer, but I know it was just because he was so happy!  What a special boy and a special day.

Dinner was chicken salad on croissants, fruit kabobs, salad, corn salsa and chips, root beer float cupcakes, and key lime pie!

It was a crazy busy weekend (on top of the baptism on Saturday, we had a baseball game and Run for Dunn!), but so special.  My highlight was seeing Austin's smile while he was being baptized.  Also, hearing his testimony on Sunday!  He was the first one to get up to bear his testimony and gave a heartfelt (not scripted) testimony of the importance of being baptized, the Savior, and the gospel.  I was blown away!  We sure love him.  He will make one excellent missionary someday!
