Onto third grade!

Austin has had an exciting end to second grade.  He completed a second grade animal project on the Nile crocodile, in which he extensively researched the topic, wrote a paper about it, and then created a diorama all on his own! (Ok, maybe a little help from Dad, but he did most of it!)

He also had a field day, in which all the second grade students got to participate in fun outdoor activities.  I got to help out with that, it's always a bit chaotic, but fun!

Austin's teacher, Mrs. MeGee was such a fantastic teacher for Austin this year.  We lucked out!  Next year, Austin will be going to a Challenge program at a different school on Tuesdays.  It is for gifted kids.  Austin was tested for the Gifted and Talented program and scored high enough to be in that class.  We were given the option of changing schools where he would be in a G & E class full-time, or stay at our current school and bus over to a different school for the Challenge class on Tuesdays.

We are excited to see the growth you will make in third grade buddy!  You are an excellent student and we know that you have a bright future ahead of you!
