Future Engineer on our hands

This kid is amazing at building things. Legos, magformers, kinex, tinker toys, erector sets, lincoln logs, you name it. What amazes me is the patience that he has to build these complicated things, some that are intended for 10 or 12 year olds. And he does it all without any help (most of the time)!!!

I know every parent thinks that their child is brilliant. But Austin really is something else. We have always known that about him, but now others, like his school teachers are also seeing that about him. He excels at reading, math, comprehension, and science, but what really impresses me is how he connects the things he is learning and applies them to everyday life. His creativity, his "outside the box" thinking, his attention to detail, are qualities that will get him far in life.

It won't be very much longer before he has surpassed his mom and dad on many school subjects, particularly math. That will be a sad day, but I am so proud of him and know that he has a bright future ahead of him.

Perhaps as an Engineer??? We shall see.
